A MAN has died while another is recovering in hospital following a suicide attempt at Preston Prison.
Prison governor Alan Scott said a man from Cambridge was discovered hanging in his cell on Sunday morning and was taken to hospital where he is making progress.
A second man, from Lancaster, was found hanged in his cell yesterday and later pronounced dead. He was 22-years-old and on remand for burglary.
Mr Scott said: "Staff tried to revive him but paramedics said he was dead. It has been reported to the coroner but a suicide note was found."
