THE route of Blackburn's long-awaited Inner Relief Road was finalised.
The Department of the Environment announced its backing for the route favoured by Lancashire County Council. It was to link Bolton Road, at its junction with Freckleton Street, with Haslingden Road, at Eanam, skirting the northern and western edges of the town.
Converted for the new archive on 14 July 2000. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
