MANAGER Neil Warnock said that Bury could have folded if they had gone out of the FA Cup against non-League Tamworth last night.

The Shakers came very close to being dumped out of the competition. They scrambled a flukey equaliser through Chris Billy with just four minutes remaining.

Until then Bury had been completely outplayed by an impressively fluent Tamworth side, and it was only rookie keeper Pat Kenny who spared the Bury blushes.

The impressive Warren Houghton gave the visitors a well deserved lead, then hit the woodwork and later brought two magnificent saves out of hero of the night Kenny.

The Shakers appeared to be heading out of competition in the final minutes when the ball hit Billy took the game into extra time.

However, never say die Tamworth continued to impress and forced Kenny into yet another save, but from which an early throw saw Lutel James speed his way into the box and drive home what proved to be the winner. At no stage did the impressive visitors crumble and with the final touch of extra time, Kenny amazingly plucked the ball from the line and in the end the visitors were robbed of a deserved place in the next round.

>The Bury faithful gave Tamworth a much deserved ovation at the end of the game, but are clearly unhappy with the quality and style of their side's play. Troubled times at Gigg Lane !!
