ANOTHER mixed weekend for the Colne Clarets teams with the younger end all claiming victories and the older sides all going down to defeats.

The Under-Eights came away from Brierfield Celtic with a 4-0 win. Daniel Berry scored a hat trick and picked up the man of the match award, and Jordan Jackson also found the net.

There was Cup joy for the Under-Nines as they beat Barrowford Celtic 3-0. Colne went two goals up in the first half - both courtesy of Thomas Cleaver. But despite being in control for most of the game, they could only manage one more goal.

Following a good move down the right wing Martin Campi darted in to finish the move off with a well-taken goal at the near post. Man of the match went to Carl Ellerton. The Under-10s' usual flowing football deserted them as they had to come from behind twice to eventually scrape through 3-2 against West End. The goals came from man of the match Phillip Berry, and two from Thomas Alderman.

The Under-12s put up a good fight for most of their game against Clitheroe Wolves before eventually going down 6-3. Scott Moore bagged one and Jarred Pate got a brace. Man of the match was Lee Jackson.

The Under-13s lost 10-0 against

Clitheroe Wolves despite going in at the interval only 2-0 down. Clitheroe proved too strong on the day. Man of the match went to Kieron Southworth for a tireless performance. The Under-14s went down 7-1 to Fulledge Colts with Matty Brown scoring their consolation goal and Carl Ellerton gaining the man of the match award. Richard Edwards netted twice for the Under-15s but unfortunately it wasn't enough as they crashed to a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Rolls Royce. Carl Walton was man of the match.
