TWO new memorial walls have been created in a Pendle cemetery to allow the bereaved to pay their respects.
The new walls at Wheatlands Cemetery, Earby, were dedicated by Baptist Minister The Rev Tony Taylor and officially opened by the Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Edwina Sargeant, yesterday.
Local monumental masons Bent Stevenson Memorials, carried out the work.
Linda Binns, Pendle Council's cemeteries officer, said: "We want this to be a pleasant and tranquil place for the bereaved to come."
The appearance of the cemetery has been improved with the introduction of new litter bins, better benches and a new seating area next to the memorial walls.
