LONDON bobby Peter McLynn celebrated 22 years with the police by travelling 200 miles north to Blackburn Rovers' Ewood Park to meet Jack Walker.

Sergeant McLynn was presented with his long service award by the Ewood owner after putting in a special request for the ceremony to take place at the home of his favourite football club.

Peter, 50, is Blackburn born and served with the Army for nine years before joining the Metropolitan police.

He is a member of the London branch of the Rovers Supporters Association and follows the club's fortunes closely from the capital city.
