COLNE's thriving clothes to glassware Boundary Mill stores announced further expansion today - by taking over a pub!
The major retailer has secured the lease on the adjoining Golden Ball Inn, a Tetley house and the second oldest pub in town.
A company spokesman said improvement works were now taking place and re-opening with a new mine host was expected within the next fortnight.
Boundary Mill already has a coffee shop and restaurant and quality pub food which would be on offer at the Golden Ball would complement existing facilities, she added.
"The Inn is ideally situated for us," she said.
Just a year ago the main road Inn was re-launched after £75,000 improvements.
In August, Boundary Mill received the go-ahead from Pendle council for an extension linking its glass and china and clothing stores.
Car parking will be extended into Corporation Street, following the demolition of buildings on the street.
At the same time Asda, which shares the site, was granted permission to extend its food store.
