I DISAPPROVE of bonfires being held on any other date but November 5.

As animal owners are advised to keep pets in on Bonfire Night, can someone please tell me what is the correct date for Bonfire Night?

I am aware of bonfires being held on the 6th. This being a Saturday, it may be more convenient for people, but why, oh why should my animals have to be kept in nearly all November because of fireworks and bonfires?

Do children today understand what Bonfire Night is about? And if so, why in that case, is it held on different dates?

Fireworks are available too early, causing them to be let off from the first possible opportunity.

The sale of fireworks should be stopped and only organised displays on the correct date held.

This would prevent animals becoming distressed and children being hurt.
