MEMENTOES of East Lancashire's soccer history are likely to be snapped up by enthusiasts at a London auction.

A souvenir photograph album of the 1928 FA Cup Final presented to Blackburn Rovers finalist Jock Hutton is expected to fetch up to £700 when it is auctioned at Sotheby's first football sale in London on December 7.

And another one of the lots is a matchcard from a benefit game between Southampton and Woolwich Arsenal for Church-born Arthur Chadwick, who played for the 'Saints' between 1897 and 1901 and appeared in the Cup Final in 1900.

The Rovers' blue leather photograph album, with gilt inscription to Jock Hutton, is described as the kind of memento many football fans would love to own.

Hutton played at right back in the Rovers 1928 FA Cup Final winning team against Huddersfield Town.

He was signed from Aberdeen and made a total of 146 appearances for the Ewood club between 1926 and 1927 and 1931 and 1932.

Two 1928 FA Cup Final programmes are also up for grabs and are likely to attract bids of up to £400 each.

Arthur Chadwick was the first Southampton player to be sent off in a league match.

He later became the Saints manager and took them to the semi finals of the FA Cup in 1927.

He eventually settled in Exeter but collapsed and died in 1936.
