PARENTS of every baby born in East Lancashire during the Millennium will receive an information magazine called Get Ready! and a birth book from the children's charity the NSPCC.
Burnley MP Peter Pike welcomed the news and said: "Parents need all the help they can get in the difficult task of raising children and quite often they don't know where to turn for that help.
"I'm sure all the new mums and dads will find Get Ready! a huge help."
The new publications follow consultations with health professionals including the Royal College of Nursing, the Royal College of Midwives, the community practitioners, health visitors and the health education authority.
