H AND S Plumbers, with Keith Jackson in unbeatable form, continue to dominate Division One after their convincing 7-3 away victory over Unison.
Although Unison had their chances, with Ian Haworth putting on a magnificent performance to beat Phil Blake in the deciding set, and Colin Wilson forcing Colin Parkinson to surrender his 100 per cent average, the Plumbers still look unshakeable at the top with a 17-point advantage over Queen's Park.
In Division Two, battling BT knew it would be a hard match when they visited leaders Darwen URC. It did not take long for the hosts, with Ian Mason and Graham Austin firing on all cylinders, to blow away the opposition and record a splendid 9-1 victory.
Team captain Andy Thompson managed to sneak a hard-fought win against Dave Naylor for the underdogs, but BT still found themselves joint bottom for the first time this season.
Likewise, struggling Queen's Park 3rd, who currently share bottom place with BT, suffered their sixth consecutive defeat of the season when they visited Audley House 4th. With two excellent wins from Pauline Gleave, and one from Tim Bleasdale, the home team cruised to an early lead before Nathan Walton, Danny Bolton and Allan Banks capitalised on their chances to put Audley House briefly under pressure.
But thanks to Ian Baskerville, who took maximum points on the night, Pauline Gleave's team continue their steady climb after winning the match 7-3.
Promotion hopefuls Fire Brigade A, with Ian Roberts, Darrell Cemm and Vic Young, reclaimed second position after a superb 9-1 home victory over a two-man Darwen URC 2nd.
Paul Melling and Derek Jepson put up a good fight but had to settle for one very well-earned point thanks to Paul's triumph over Darrell.
At the top of Division Three, the clash between Northern and Tek Neek was a close affair. Tek Neek, with Damian Erskine, Matt Wales and Jason Broadley, led for most of the match, but Joe Constable, Joan Bowker and Roger Eaton refused to surrender their unbeaten run, holding out for a 5-5 draw.
As a result, Northern climb into a challenging second position, two points behind leaders Tek Neek with a game in hand.
