A PAPERBOY was punched in the face by a robber who stole his prized mountain bike after attacking him on his round.

Tyler Roberts, 13, was delivering newspapers in Mill Hill, Blackburn, when he was asked for the time by a man in his 20s who then punched him in the face before riding off on his bike.

His mother Aileen Roberts, 45, of Greenside Avenue, Blackburn, has appealed for the return of the bike, which was stolen at 3.30pm last Wednesday.

Mrs Roberts said Tyler was followed from Shorrock Lane into Meadow Head Close, and attacked in Dalby Crescent. His friend Neil Woodruff also witnessed the drama.

She added that Tyler had been badly shaken by the attack, and he was devastated as he'd just bought new parts for his bike.

Now all Tyler has left of the metallic green Raleigh Activator is a spare wheel.

The missing machine has a mud guard on the front wheel, and a combination lock attached to the frame.

Blackburn Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.

The attacker is white, male, and in his mid 20s.

He was wearing a black and white jumper, a cream coat, denim jeans, and white trainers.

Anyone with information should contact Blackburn Police on 01254 51212.
