DENNIS Taylor and Shokat Ali both reached the second qualifying round of the Thailand Masters with comfortable wins at Newport yesterday.
Blackburn's former world champion Taylor beat Englishman Alistair Carter 5-1, while Accrington-based Ali saw off former world amateur champion Noppadon Noppachorn of Thailand 5-2.
Stuart Pettman, from Lostock Hall, also reached the next stage by beating Belgian Mario Geudens 5-3.
