WHEN Terry Gavigan started working for the A and J White car dealership, a new car cost around £300.
Forty years on, the business sells vehicles costing 100 times that much.
Terry, of Kentmere Drive, Cherry Tree, Blackburn, has just celebrated 40 years with the company, based in Whalley New Road, Blackburn.
He started working in the parts department at the age of 15 and worked his way up to parts manager.
He said: "It is a good family firm to work for. I have worked for three generations - the grandfather, the father and now the son. I have really enjoyed the last 40 years."
Terry, 55, who is married with a son and a daughter, was presented with a decanter for his long service.
