WITH reference to the article about Richard Jones and his coronation mug of King George VI and his wife, Elizabeth, now the Queen mum (Citizen, January 13).
I remember when I was at school down south my eldest brother, sister and myself were given a cup, saucer and plate to mark the occasion on May 12, 1937.
I still have mine. I remember that I was only five years old and my mother would never let us use them until we were 14!
Last year Ingol WI had a competition of old china and a coronation mug was among the collection. It was made in England by Mintons, established in 1793.
