THE FUNERAL of Leigh schoolboy Michael Gregory took place at the town's parish church.
Thirteen-year-old Michael from Blewbury Close, Leigh, died after suffering head injuries in a collision with a car on Atherleigh Way.
Michael was a Year Eight pupil at Westleigh High School and his funeral at Leigh Parish Church followed by burial at Howe Bridge.
Headteacher John Pout, teachers and pupils from Westleigh High, and teachers from his former schools, Leigh CE Infants and Juniors, attended the service.
Vicar of Leigh, Rev Terry Challis told mourners that Michael's death was a "timely reminder of how dangerous roads can be".
