DISQUALIFIED driver John Crabtree was sent to prison for eight weeks when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates.

Crabtree, 47, of Cicely Court in the town, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance. The court heard that he had two previous convictions for disqualified driving.

Roger Pickles, defending, said Crabtree had made an error as to when his disqualification ended. "He should have contacted the DVLA and he accepts he has made a mistake," said Mr Pickles.
