STUART Alan Woodward burgled his sister's house when he knew she had taken her child out for a birthday celebration.
Blackburn magistrates heard Woodward told police he had committed the offence because he had a heroin problem.
Woodward, 22, of Faraday Avenue, Clitheroe, admitted burglary at a house in Waterloo Road. He also pleaded guilty to burglary at Jimmy Clitheroe's cafe.
He was remanded on bail until February 25, after stipendiary magistrate Jonathon Finestein ordered the preparation of psychiatric reports.
