LAUGHTER is said to be the best medicine, and that was put to the test at a complementary therapy day at the Nazareth Unitarian Chapel, Knight Hill, Padiham.

After morning service the day began with a discussion on cranio sacral therapy, a gentle hands-on treatment, with registered osteopath Victor Seal.

The afternoon session started with Burnley health and fitness development officer Linda Searle explaining all about the BEEP scheme, Burnley encouraging exercise on prescription.

Events ended with a talk on laughter therapy by nurse Mavis Croft.

More than 30 people attended.

Maureen Brown, a member of the chapel's events committee, said: "It was an excellent day all about how to make the body function better and to bring relief for aches and pains."
