FA Cup 5th round: Cambridge United 1 Bolton Wanderers 3

A DOUBLE strike from Bob Taylor spared Bolton's blushes after a nightmare start to this FA Cup fifth round clash.

Wanderers found themselves 1-0 down at half time until Taylor, brought in after a similar double in the reserves in midweek, saved the day for Sam Allardyce's side.

Bolton fell behind thanks to a scrappy goal from Trevor Benjamin. Russell's free kick was saved brilliantly by Jussi Jaaskelainen, but when Benjamin latched onto the loose ball there was nothing the big Finn could do on his return to the side.

But Bolton came out for the second half a new team, eventually proving their superiority over the Second Division strugglers.

Taylor's first goal was a fine volley from Claus Jensen's cross. The striker then completed his brace with a more straightforward goal, substitute Eidur Gudjohnsen laying the ball in to Gardner. The Jamaican then signed off before leaving on international duty by gifting Taylor his and Bolton's second of the game.

Wanderers made the game safe late on when Eidur Gudjohnsen clipped the ball home to book a tough quarter final clash with Division One rivals Charlton at the Reebok Stadium.
