SIX officials and supporters of Readstone United football club are helping the youngsters to head off to Holland by having their heads shaved.
Three of the club's 12 teams are taking part in an international friendly tournament in Holland during the last weekend in April and the club is busy raising money to help pay for the four-day event.
Waving goodbye to their hair on Saturday were under tens managers Roy Edmondson and Steve Laurie, assistant, Roy Fernhead, Ian Williams, husband of fund-raiser Dawn, and team supporters Les Derbyshire and Mick Gardner. They had their close shave at Mick Dalby's hairdresser's in Church Street, Padiham, and the event raised about £400 in sponsorship.
The club's under sevens teams play at Read school field. The under tens have no home ground.
