MEMBERS of Mountain Rescue Teams from all over the North West braved high winds and heavy rain for their annual training exercise in Dunsop Bridge.
The day-long exercise involved members of Bowland Pennine, Bolton and Kendal teams "rescuing" six youngsters from remote areas of the Forest of Bowland.
The youngsters, posing as a Duke of Edinburgh award expedition, fell into a quarry suffering broken backs, multiple fractures and severe hypothermia.
The exercise was hailed a success, but the weather was so bad that the police helicopter was unable to participate.
