SKIPPER Sean Gregan is a major doubt for Preston's Division Two trip to Oxford tonight.
The midfielder picked up a knock during North End's 2-0 FA Cup defeat at Everton on Saturday and is rated as "highly doubtful" for the trip to the Manor Ground.
Michael Jackson is also struggling after receiving a kick to the calf, while Lee Cartwright is definitely ruled out after damaging ankle ligaments at Goodison and Bjarki Gunnlaugsson is away on international duty with Iceland.
Steve Basham is expected to make his first start in four months after recovering from a string of injury lay-offs.
North End did themselves proud against the Premiership giants and will be hoping to repeat that performance against the U's.
