TOP Con B are sitting comfortably at the top of the Darwen Hotels Snooker League at the half-way stage and it's going to take a severe loss of form or a volcanic eruption to stop them breaking the title stranglehold of their deadly rivals Cemetery A.
Baz O'Kane is having a brilliant season for the Con, having won 11 of his 12 games - and off the minimum handicap of minus 10. None of the other top players have come anywhere near that impressive return.
Baz had turn on his own special brand of magic to beat Cemetery's Walt Jarvis and that frame really swung the top-of-the-table clash in the Con's favour. The Cem crawled away with just two points as Mark Jennings and Graham McHugh wrapped up six of the best. Only Andy Maudsley could hold up his head among the Cem squad. He was in devastating form.
Prince are disputing second place but few expect them to mount a serious challenge for the title and Punch in fourth place are having an indifferent season.
Tonight's games: Uncle Jack's v Top Con B, Anchor v Cemetery A, Borough A v Alexandra A, Prince v Punch, Alexandra B v Hoddlesden, Top Con A v Borough B. Open: Cemetery B.
