FORMER Ewood idol Alan Shearer has revealed he has waited four years to get his own back on the Blackburn boo boys.

England captain Shearer was subjected to a barrage of abuse by some Rovers fans on his return to Ewood with Newcastle on Monday night.

But the £15 million frontman unleashed all his pent-up frustration with a two-goal salvo which dumped his former club out of the FA Cup.

Shearer is subjected to abuse all over the country whenever Newcastle play an away game.

But he says he feels particularly hurt by the taunts of the Rovers fans, after his goals steered the club to the Premiership title in 1995.

"I've been waiting for a long time to do that - four years," said Shearer.

"Every dog has its day. I've been back before and been harshly treated by the fans.

"It still disappoints me but it didn't surprise me, even though I scored 130-odd goals for them and the club made a £13 million profit on me. "But that's football. I can handle it."

In a rare show of emotion, Shearer showed his delight in gaining revenge with his animated goal celebrations.

Normally, the England skipper wields away with one arm in the air.

But on Monday, he posed provocatively as a marksman, clutching his Newcastle badge with one hand, after opening the scoring in the 20th minute.

Then, after bagging the winner, he dived full-length in front of the Newcastle fans packed into the Darwen End goal.

But the 29-year-old has confirmed those wild celebrations will only be a one-off.

"I'll be sticking to the old celebrations after the stick I took in training. I don't know where they came from."
