POLICE saw Anthony Barlow shouting and swearing at a paramedic dealing with a late night incident in Fleming Square, Blackburn.
Blackburn magistrates heard that as the officers approached, Barlow threw a punch at a taxi driver.
Barlow, 41, of Walsh Street, Blackburn, admitted being drunk and disorderly and was granted a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £55 costs.
Basharat Ditta, defending, said Barlow was on medication for depression after the death of his brother. "He has never come to terms with that death," said Mr Ditta.
"On occasions he goes on drinking binges to numb the pain and help him forget."
