CLITHEROE Auction Mart Company Ltd has bought the Slaidburn auction firm C Silverwood, an antique and collectors' auction firm owned by Mary Silverwood.
Mrs Silverwood originally set up the business with her husband Chris, holding sales at Newton Village Hall since the early 1960s, and she carried on alone after his death eight years ago.
Clitheroe Auction Mart will continue to hold auctions at the village hall, under the Silverwood name.
The next sale will be held on April 12 and William Pallister, from Skipton, will be the auctioneer.
