THE history of Bowland is about to be brought to life with the re-issue of a book written in 1955.
Bolland Forest and the Hodder Valley was originally written by Margaret Greenwood, of Clerk Hill, Whalley, and the Rev Charles Bolton, of Leagram, and is being reprinted by Blackpool-based Landy Publishing.
The new book, which will be on a limited run of 1,000 to be released in September, has been updated with photographs, a bibliography, an index of family names and a new introduction by local historian Chris Spencer.
The book costs £15 with a percentage being given to the Slaidburn Heritage Centre.
For further information ring Landy on 01253 895678.
Converted for the new archive on 14 July 2000. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
