FORMER Burnley town clerk Brian Whittle brought back memories with an official visit to the town hall.
The ex-chief executive who led the town hall team from 1973 until his retirement in 1992, was guest of the mayor Coun Eddie Fisk, himself a councillor for more than 20 years.
They enjoyed tea and a chat in the mayor's parlour followed by a tour of the town hall, including the council's roll of honour, which includes Mr Whittle's name.
Mr Whittle, who lives in Barrowford, had met the mayor at a civic function in the area and Coun Fisk invited him to visit the town hall to recall times past.
At the time of his retirement, he was the longest serving chief executive in Lancashire.
