A TEENAGER was punched and head-butted after a gang demanded money as he was getting cash from a bank.
The 16-year-old, who has not been named, was withdrawing money from a cash machine at the HSBC Bank, in Manchester Road, Nelson, when he was confronted by three youths.
They demanded cash and when the teenager refused he was assaulted. The attack left him with a black eye and bruised forehead.
The gang ran off empty-handed. They were all Asians but the teenager was only able to give police description of one. He was around 6ft tall and wore a black bodywarmer.
The attack happened at 1.45pm on Sunday. Anyone in the area who saw anything should call 01282 472644.
