CHANTING protesters presented a 26,000-name "Yellow Ribbon" petition to the health authority calling for more cash to be pumped into Accrington's Victoria Hospital.

Authority chairman Ian Woolley was greeted by chants of "No More Cuts" as he arrived for a meeting.

Later in the meeting, members decided Ward 5 at the hospital should remain closed at least until April.
