DETECTIVES today named a man wanted in connection with a double murder of a mother and her lodger - and revealed that he could be in East Lancashire.

Raymond Paul Whittaker, 33, has been named as the second man police want to question about the death of Patricia Price, 44 and Ian Clark, 33, who were found shot through the head in their terrace house in Bridlington, Yorkshire, on December 18.

Officers believe their deaths were linked to a drugs vendetta.

A 40-year-old man was today being quizzed about the murders and Humberside Police have released details of Mr Whittaker as the second person they want to quiz.

Mr Whittaker is also known as Whitworth or Wild and is believed to have called at the house on the night of the shootings.

He is known to have travelled to Bacup in the hours after the shooting and police said he could have found work repairing cars, woodworking, or at a fairground.

The 40-year-old man was arrested yesterday at a travellers' site in Hornsey, north London and was today being quizzed in connection with the double murder.

Whittaker is thought to have escaped from the site while the 40-year-old was being arrested.

Police said Whittaker was "extremely dangerous" and should not be approached. He has the nickname "Tikki" and has also used the names Andrew Jamie Nichol and Nicholas Francis Cass. He is believed to have relatives in Lancashire.

He is described as white, 6ft, slim, with blue eyes. He is known to wear a woollen hat and army clothing. Anyone with information should call 01377 241 882 or any police station.
