FOOD left frying in a pan sparked a blaze at a house in Cross Barn Grove, Darwen.
Firefighters arrived shortly after 3.40am today to clear smoke from the ground floor flat.
Damage was limited to the pan and contents after a smoke alarm alerted the householder.
