IT'S a Knockout in Blackburn town centre was a fun-filled afternoon for everyone.
Women's teams battled it out in various events, including wheelbarrow racing, cricket and netball, with some teams opting for fancy dress.
The event was just one of many planned during this year's International Women's Week, which runs until Saturday.
Incorporated into Blackburn with Darwen's Festival 2000, the week-long celebration aims to recognise and value the diversity of women's contributions to activities within the community and beyond.
Full details, including a packed programme of events, are available from Blackburn and Darwen Town Halls, Jubilee House, community centres, libraries and other council outlets, or by telephoning 01254 585437/585110.
