A training team has won a top award.
Staff from the Eurofighter Typhoon training facility at BAE System's Samlesbury site won the gold award for best practice at the company's national in-house awards. The nine-strong team at Samlesbury had to beat off competition from 40 other departments across the company.
"The training facility was set up to give the people who go through it the best possible chance to hit the ground running when they start work on the aircraft," said Steve Gray, training manager.
Everyone involved in on-going work on the Eurofighter Typhoon project receives four weeks training at the centre. Since it opened last April 160 employees have passed through.
