THE police helicopter was brought in after a four year old girl wearing a pink Barbie dress and red Smartie boots was reported missing from her home in Queen Victoria Road, Burnley, at 7.20pm on Saturday.
Sgt Martin Selway said the mum rang to say she had gone to the park where she thought the girl was playing but she was not there.
The helicopter was brought out and Rossendale Search and Rescue team put on standby.
About an hour later the girl returned home. Sgt Selway said: "She had been at the home of a family friend all along."
