NINETY people from town centre churches took part in a Women's World Day of Prayer event at the Salvation Army Citadel, Burnley.
The event was attended by the Mayoress of Burnley, Mrs Pat Chadwick. It was introduced by Women's World of Prayer committee secretary Ita Thomas and led by treasurer Linda Sawley. Pianist was Vic Gebbie.
Also taking part were two young girls (pictured, front centre) from St Stephen's primary school Sarah-Jayne Green (right) who lit a candle and Catherine Whittaker who took part in a drama and reading. Guest speaker was Captain Elizabeth Smith (centre) of the Salvation Army.
