URDU boundary signs are being considered for Brierfield.
Pendle Council has received a request from Brierfield Town Council asking if the current six boundary signs saying "Welcome to Brierfield" can be amended to include the Urdu word for "welcome".
The council's Brierfield and Reedley Area Committee will tomorrow consider whether Urdu should be included and whether it should be part of the entire sign or on a separate plate.
The cost of replacing the six signs is estimated at £1,000 with £550 for additional plates.
The original proposal came from the Deputy Mayor of Brierfield, Coun Mohammed Hanif, at the last meeting of Brierfield Town Council.
