I FEEL I must defend my comments (Letters, February 8) from what I consider to be undue criticism. I was not suggesting that pensions should be stopped, but was criticising all the additional benefits that come with them.
I realise that most pensioners worked hard for long periods of their lives, but the state was never designed to keep them in everything they desire. I hope to be old myself one day, but I am busy making my own provisions.
I am not picking on pensioners, but the jobless don't write in en masse complaining about what they receive off me and all the other workers in this country.
As a footnote, could somebody please tell the Kosovars that the war is over?
