NOT before time an end is in sight to the annual scramble for places in the Ribble Valley's two high schools and the shunting of the losers to schools far away, as the County Council reveals a £1.5 million plan to create 350 new places at Bowland and Ribblesdale high schools.
But, in the meantime, the pressure will remain until 2001, as Valley MP Nigel Evans points out. Cannot the County plug the gap in the interim by providing temporary accommodation at these sites?
