HASLINGDEN is to be given a brighter, greener look this spring.
A number of improvements are taking place, funded jointly by Action for Haslingden Partnership and Rossendale Council.
Hanging baskets are to be provided on new specially-designed columns in Deardengate, trees have been planted on the main street outside Dearden House and The Lindens and new street lamps have been provided.
A derelict flower bed beside the new market has been revived, protected by railings matching those already on the market.
A new semi-circular seating area with flower beds and a feature lamp are being constructed on Hud Hey Road in a scheme of improvements totalling more than £30,000.
