POLICE were called to a high school after two air pistols, a knife and a slingshot were confiscated from a 12-year-old pupil.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire police confirmed they were called to Todmorden High School, Burnley Road, at 1.30pm yesterday after the weapons were found by a teacher.
The police spokesman said: "A number of offensive weapons were confiscated from a 12-year-old boy.
"He was taken home by officers and arrangements made for him to attend the local police station with his parents."
The boy has now been excluded from the school.
A Calderdale Council spokesman said: "The school takes a very serious view of this highly unusual situation. The boy's mother was contacted immediately and he has been informed he was excluded from the school."
