A CRIME busting police blitz has been launched to spread fear among criminals in Darwen.
Extra officers have been drafted in to help make Operation Tanoy a success.
The crackdown aims to cut the number of burglaries and incidents of car crime and criminal damage.
Known offenders will be targeted and members of the public are being asked to pass on information about problems in their community.
Neighbourhood Watch projects in the town are also involved.
Inspector Mike Simmons of Darwen police said: "It is a high profile policing operation which aims to reduce crime by transferring fear to the criminal."
