POLICE are hunting two teenagers who threatened a man with a "pointed instrument" before robbing him in Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen.

The man, in his 40s, was walking his dog at 1.30pm yesterday when he was approached by two youths and pushed against a tree and searched. The robbers made off with the man's brown leather wallet containing £70.

PC Paul Sherratt said: "The offenders ran off up the hill towards Peregrine Drive, which leads to the Birch Hall estate, and we think that is where they may have gone."

Both robbers are thought to be aged about 17 and about 5ft 8in. Both had local accents.

The first had mousy brown hair, cut in a basin style.

The second was wearing a navy blue zip-fronted waist length jacket with a motif on the back and dark blue or black tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Darwen CID on 01254 701777.
