THERE was plenty of fun to be had when the Beavers got together for their annual party. The event marked the organisation's 14th anniversary.
The youngsters played games throughout the afternoon at Audley Sports Centre in Blackburn. The sports ranged from football and hockey to ping-pong and cricket, and there was also a bouncy castle. There was a chance to get involved with some crafts, and the youngsters made clocks, bookmarks and biscuits with a face on the front. The deputy mayor and mayoress of Blackburn paid a visit and cut the cake.
The Beavers, who were from 11 different groups in Blackburn, all took home a special party bag containing a colouring book, a piece of cake, two chocolate bars and a Mr Potatohead toy. Gillian Munro, assistant district commissioner, said: "Everyone really enjoyed it, and the deputy mayoress even had a go on the bouncy castle."
