THE hand-drawn maps and illustrations of local historian John B Taylor are so exquisitely done that people take part in Rossendale guided walks just to collect the handouts. Some even take them home to be framed and put on display.
Examples of John's superb pen-and-ink charts have been put on show this week at Groundwork Rossendale's countryside centre in New Hall Hey. John is currently collating details of all the old ramblers' tea rooms which played an important part in rambling in the past. He is asking for anyone with details to let him or Groundwork know so that he can add them to his maps and information sheets.
Countryside guide Bryan Adlum is pictured at the exhibition.
