A MAN has admitted a £5,000 robbery on a post office which ended with a worker being slashed by a machete.
Ian Greenwood, 22, of Ashworth Close, Blackburn, admitted robbery and the theft of a Vauxhall Merit car when he appeared at Preston Crown Court.
The robbery took place shortly before Christmas last year at Moss Bridge sub-post office in Bolton Road, Darwen. Sub-postmaster Gleam Ahmed was struck on the shoulder with a machete and needed hospital treatment.
Greenwood was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at the end of the trial of his co-accused Ian Lupton, 26, of Birch Hall Avenue, Darwen.
