WILDFLOWERS will bloom at a Blackburn school, thanks to a £100 grant.

The Yorkshire Bank gave the money to Cedars Infant School to buy wildflower seeds which will be planted in the school grounds.

The planting is part of a wider project to redevelop the school grounds with an emphasis on nature. The aim is to make them more attractive and allow children to use the area for nature study.

Trees have already been planted for a miniature woodland.

Pictured with the cheque are, from the left, Benish Idris, Ruqhsar Qureshi, Iram Pathan, Jonathan Gregson, Yorkshire Bank customer service manager Peter Devlin, project helper Denis Neale and Nabil Ahmed.
