EIGHT-year-old Amie Harbour (pictured) was so touched by the plight of the flood victims of Mozambique that she asked teachers at her school if they could do something to help.

As a result, £213 was raised at a non-uniform day at Brunshaw County Primary Shool, Burnley.

Kind-hearted Amie - pictured finding the country on a globe - decided that she wanted to do all she could to help the victims of the flood after seeing news coverage of their plight on television.

Her teacher Sue Bolton said: "She came and asked what we could do to help and the non-uniform day was organised so that something could be done quickly. Amie is a very caring little girl."
