MUSIC-loving former headmaster Jack Bednall has died suddenly aged 70.
Mr Bednall was headmaster at Castle Hill school, Todmorden, for more than 20 years until he retired and was organist and choirmaster at Central Methodist Church, Todmorden, up to his death.
He was also conductor of Todmorden Choral Society and was widely known in the area as "Mr Music".
The Rev Chris Sharp, minister at Central Methodist Church said: "I am sure everyone who knew him will be saddened by his loss.
"We give particularly sympathy to his wife Marion and their two daughters.
"He was a very cheerful and likeable man. Music played a big part in his life."
Mr Bednall was also a governor at Todmorden High School.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalised.
